Credit Card Memory®

The Credit Card Memory® style of USB flash drives has been an instant success. For the end user this USB flash memory drive fits right into a man’s or woman’s wallet.  Where do you keep all of your important “cards?” You probably have them in your wallet.

Your personal and corporate data stored on your USB flash memory device is just as important if not more important than your actual credit cards. My advice is if you can’t seem to wear the memory tied to a lanyard 100% of the time then have your company purchase Credit Card Memory® and put it in your wallet.

Not all Credit Card Memory® is the same. The original product has a small USB connector soldered to it. This allows for easy insertion into tight USB spaces. Also it forces you to pull the connector out at the port not by the body of the product.

Some of the newer models that are knock-offs of the original tried to improve on the design by having the entire memory chip inserted on the actual USB connector. They made it rigid like a “tooth” as in the picture below.

The problem with this design is that most people think that the memory is solidly secured to the body of the device. It isn’t. Two very small pins hold the USB connector and memory assembly to the body of the device.

What happens… you guessed it. The little USB “tooth” memory/connector breaks off almost immediately. Bottom line – stay away from that connector. Stick to the original model.

Beer Filled USB Flash Memory

A few weeks ago a supplier out of Asia sent me an email advertising these units. This is awesome. Imagine the fun you can have selling these to college bookstores. Every college kids needs a couple of these for Christmas.

I did a search on Ebay and I don’t see them posted en mass yet. As long as the manufactures have permission to print this logo then this could be a unique product. If you get in quick you may be able to sell a few of these on Ebay over the holiday season.

However, from an ad specialty point of view I don’t think you will be able to use Budweiser’s logo without their permission on each order – which I doubt they will give you. Also if you take the logo off and just put on the school’s logo well… it kind of looks like piss as well as beer so this is probably not a good idea.

Still this you got to admit this is a unique unit.
